  • La Calenda Tradicion - Community Dance Latino Folklorico Program

    La CALENDA is a community art and culture project inspired by a tradition from the Oaxaca state of Mexico. It originated in the Northgate neighborhood of Salem and centers around a dance program. The primary objective of La CALENDA is to educate the community about the significance of unity, collaboration, community engagement, social challenges, and civic education.   • Los Colores de America Latino Orchestra Project

    Los Colores de America is a community art and culture project based in Salem that originated in the Northgate neighborhood. Through a music program, it aims to establish a strong connection with artists and community members who have a passion for music but lack opportunities to express their talent within a group or through performances. Our program provides a platform and opportunity for individuals at a basic level to participate in music projects, both within our own festivals and other community events. Additionally, we utilize music as a means to support and educate the community about the importance of unity, collaboration, community engagement, social challenges, and civic education.     Debajo del Arbol Reading Program is a community initiative that takes place in a serene outdoor setting, nestled beneath the shade of a magnificent tree. This program aims to foster a love for reading and literacy among individuals of all ages. With the belief that books have the power to inspire, educate, and entertain, our reading program invites community members to gather together and delve into the captivating world of literature.
